Greg Claretto passed away Friday evening in the Bloomington Hospice House. He was born July 21, 1961 in Terre Haute to Joseph and Martha Jean Claretto. He is survived by his father, brothers Jeffrey (Sharon), Bradley (Mary Ann), nieces Emily Adamson (Rob), Audrey Falkenstein (Nick), Anna Stayer (David), Mia Claretto, nephews Dustin Claretto (Abby), Mario Claretto, Ethan Claretto (Dailyn) and six great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Greg grew up in Terre Haute. He graduated from TH North Vigo High School and was a proud graduate of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He retired after a long career as a pharmacist at the Bloomington Hospital and as an instructor at Ivy Tech in Bloomington. In his retirement Greg was nominated for Volunteer of the Year for his services at the Bloomington Habitat for Humanity ReStore, the Hoosier Hills Food Pantry and the Monroe County United Ministries Food Pantry in Bloomington. Donations in Greg’s memory can be made to any of these organizations. Greg enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Monroe, was an avid ping pong player, a big fan of the NFL and he attended the Indy 500 every year with his family and friends.
A private service will be held in Terre Haute.
