Ginny (Grandma) Hummel

Ginny (Grandma) Hummel, 81, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in her daughters residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 21, 1934 in Terre Haute to Ira Beddow and Edna Adams Beddow.

Survivors include her daughter, Patty Milner; two grandchildren, Jennifer Kelley and her husband Keith and David Milner; four great grandchildren, Aaron Milner, Lisa Milner, Levi Milner, and Loren Milner; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Slug Hummel whom she married March 29, 1952; her parents; son, Slugger Hummel; son-in-law, Ron Milner; one brother; and six sisters.

Ginny was a waitress and server for 15 years at Morrows Grill, 19 years at the Saratoga, 6 years at Bob Evans, and was still working a McDonalds on Highway 46 four months prior to her death. She was a lifetime member of VFW Post 972 Auxiliary and a member of American Legion Post 346 Auxiliary. Ginny loved to cook, bake and work in the yard. She looked forward to Southern Manor Bond Fires and spending time with Mike Ward, Moe Hatfield, Rick Conrad, Olivia Mosley, and Teri Earlywine. The family would like to give a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice and Dr. Mardini for their special care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Wendell Kirkman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016.
