Our beloved Gertrude (Trudy) Nawrocki left this world on May 2nd to be with the Lord. She was born January 24, 1926. Trudy was the oldest of 6 siblings. When their parents died at a very early time in the young children's life, Trudy became the surrogate mother. Being the oldest she loved them, protected them, provided for them, and devoted herself to them. As adults, the six siblings were devoted to each other and always had a special bond, forged from their life experience. Trudy and her husband Martin did not have children of their own, but she doted on his family's children, spoiling them with gifts and trips to the zoo and amusement parks in Chicagoland! Trudy was a respected accountant with a large manufacturing company in Chicago and had a long and successful career. Trudy and Martin spent many happy years together living in Chicago and Florida. Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Nawrocki, brothers Harold Blackburn and Butch Blackburn, sisters Doris Hill and Madeline Cummins, and brother-in-law Johnnie Cummins. She is survived by her devoted sister Ruth Ferguson and her husband Sam Ferguson, sister-in-law Jill Blackburn, brother-in-law Bill Hill, and numerous nephews and nieces. She is also preceded in death and survived by several loved family members of the Nawrocki family in and around the Chicago area.
