Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Flak Wade; son, Michael Wade of Terre Haute; daughter, Angela Leszczynski (Jeff) of Ohio; brothers, Lee Wade of Clay City and Gary Wade of Terre Haute; sisters, Rita Surrett, Carolyn Waite, and Alice Robertson all of Alabama and Joan Lloyd of Tennessee; grandchildren, Courtney Leszczynski, Corey Leszczynski, and Hayle Wade; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Wade.
George was a member of the Riley American Legion. George served as a Sergeant of the Special Forces in the U.S. Army Rangers in Vietnam.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the service at the Collett Park Pavilion. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a local charity of your choice.
