George E. Brown

George E. Brown, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 22, 1923 in Terre Haute to William Glade Brown and Laura Brady Brown. George was a home builder. Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Brown of Indianapolis, IN; sons, Michael Brown of Cookville, TN and Patrick Brown of Desoto, TX; sister, Mary Smith of W. Terre Haute; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Brown; his parents; sons, Jefferson Brown, Donald Brown, and Gregory Brown; brothers, John Brown, William Glade Brown, and Edgar Brown; sisters, Martha Brown and Dorothy Lueck; and great grandson, Michael Alderson. George was a member of carpenters Local #133 and was a World War II Navy veteran. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Friday, July 17, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military services by V.F.W. Post #972. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 12:30 - 2:30 P.M. on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or Grumbling Tummies, 1403 Chestnut, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
