Gene E. Hopkins

January 28, 1937 — November 22, 2020

Gene E. Hopkins, 83, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday morning, November 22, 2020.  He was a machine operator for Tredegar Corporation.  Gene was born January 28, 1937 in Brazil, IN to Cletis Hopkins and Alpha Taggart Hopkins.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Kathleen Tevlin Hopkins;  a daughter, Debra Hutts (Randy) of Terre Haute;  a son, Michael Hopkins (Marcy) of Dennison, IL;  and four grandchildren, Amy Hutts, Zachary Hopkins, Hannah Hopkins and Emma Hopkins.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  and a sister, Barbara DeArman.

Gene was a graduate of Riley High School and had served with the United States Army.  He enjoyed camping, woodworking and working in his garden.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Roselawn Memorial Park with Terry Tevlin officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Foundation, 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3509, www.rileykids.org .  Funeral information is also available at www.callahanandhughes.com .
