Gary Edward Johnson

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Gary Edward Johnson passed away at the age of 80 years old.  Gary was born June 6, 1940 in Muncie, Indiana to Georgia Bell Bean Johnson and Fred Eugene Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Reece-Johnson, and her 3 daughters, Tina McClelland, Jeanine Schultz and Jennifer Dinkel;  10 grandchildren;  and 3 great-grandchildren.  Additionally, Gary and his former wife, Annette Garvin Johnson of Terre Haute have 6 children,  Janine Norwicki and husband, Dan Norwicki of Terre Haute, Christa Johnson Exoo of Charlotte, NC, Don Johnson and wife, Kim of Peoria, IL, Dan Johnson and wife, Jamie of Louisville, KY, Greg Johnson and wife, Cindy of Houston, TX and Rick Johnson and wife, Nicole of Phoenix, AZ;  12 grandchildren;  and 2 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is his brother, John Johnson of Houston Texas;  a brother-in-law, Phil Tucker of Denver, CO;  half-sister, Vern Herring Davis;  1 nephew, Tracy Tucker of Charleston South Carolina; and 3 nieces, Leah Johnson Schatz of Panama City, Florida, Leslie Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky and Rachel Johnson of Houston Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  Fred Eugene Johnson and Georgia Bell Bean Johnson Herring;  and a sister, Cathy Tucker.

Gary worked for Haley Brothers Construction Company, Lundsmiller Corp.  and was plant manager of Carey Concrete, for a combined 35 years.  He loved his wife and family, and especially enjoyed visiting his kids and grandkids. He liked telling jokes of all kinds.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, IN.  In lieu of flowers, the families suggest making donations to Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank, P.O.
