Gary W. Hendrix

Gary W. Hendrix, 76, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023.  He was a maintenance foreman with the Putnamville Correctional Facility.  Gary was born January 2, 1947 in Terre Haute to Paul Edward Hendrix and Margaret Ruth Rockwood Hendrix.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kay Carpenter Hendrix;  two daughters, Susan Crosley (fiancé, Rick) and Kristie Lee Hankins (Paul);  two step-sons, David Fullingim (William) and Brad Peters (Amy);  and a step-daughter, Lori McCullough.  Also surviving are two brothers, Lloyd Hendrix (Lana) and Tom Hendrix (Pam);  14 grandchildren;  several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  a step-son, Allen Peters;  and a brother, LeeRoy Hendrix.

Gary was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Union Christian Church, Masons, Scottish Rite and Eagles Lodge.  Gary enjoyed participating in Civil War Re-enactments and was an avid cat lover.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Monday, August 21, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon in the funeral home.  Funeral information and tributes may be found at www.callahanandhughes.com .
