Gary L. Burnell, Sr.

Gary L. Burnell, Sr., 81, of Terre Haute passed away early Saturday morning, March 9, 2024.  He was an Electrician with Eli Lilly and Company and had worked for IBEW Local #725.  Gary was born August 17, 1942 in Effingham, IL to Ralph Burnell and Marjorie C. Richards Burnell.

Survivors include his children, Gary L. Burnell, Jr. (Kimberlynn) of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Lesley Rowe (Brian Strohm) of Terre Haute;  and grandchildren, Dalton Burnell (Meaghan) of Indian Town, FL and Savannah Burnell of DeFuniak Springs, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Walker Burnell.

Gary was a 33rd Degree Mason and member of Riley Lodge #390 F & AM.  He was Past President of Vigo County Past Masters Association and Terre Haute Masonic Temple Association, and member of Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute and Moose Lodge.

Funeral services will take place at 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, beginning with Masonic Services and 33rd Degree Services, and followed by funeral services with Pastor Laura McDonald officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in the funeral home.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
