Frederic P. "Ric" Gansz, 62, of Terre Haute died Monday, March 4, 2013 in Union Hospital. He was born December 22, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Marion Gansz and Drusilla Tong Gansz. He is survived by his wife, Debi LeMay Gansz, whom he married August 15, 1987 and had worked in maintenance for Sunset Harbor. Other survivors include a brother, Marion "Skip" Gansz, Jr. of South Carolina; two nephews, Ross LeMay and his wife Brooke and Ransom LeMay; three nieces, Mary Lou Martin, Annie Krausie and Myra Martin; his mother-in-law, Pauline LeMay of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, Rick LeMay and his wife Mary; and many great nieces, nephews and cousins; Frederic is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Gansz; a father-in-law, Emery LeMay; and a nephew, Andy LeMay. He was a graduate of Memorial High School in Evansville. He served his country for twenty six years in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard in Terre Haute. Frederic was a member and past secretary of Buck Creek Muzzle Loaders Association, William Penn Lodge # 727 F&AM, Rosedale Lodge # 259 F&AM, York Rite, Scottish Rite,Twelve Points Chapter #528 Order of Eastern Star and West Terre Haute Chapter #428 Order of Eastern Star. He was a 33 degree Mason and was also employed at the Newport Chemical Plant for fifthteen years. He later became an avid cat lover. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 8, 2013 in St. Joseph University Parish with Friar John Bamman officiating. Burial will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Arcadia Valley Memorial Cemetery, Arcadia, Missouri. Visitation is scheduled 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Masonic and O.E.S services starting at 7:00 P.M.
