Floyd S. Ward, Sr. Floyd S. Ward, Sr., 78, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in his residence. He was born April 12, 1935 in Buffalo, NY to Robert Ward and Marie Elizabeth Rose Ward. He was a jack of all trades working many jobs in the Terre Haute area. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Rapier Ward in 2004.
Survivors include his six sons, Blake Ward, Floyd Ward, Jr., Marvin Ward and his wife Sonya, Craig Ward, Robin Ward and Joseph Ward; four daughters, Donna Ward, Tiffany Cobbs and her husband Shawn, Andriana Torres and Kissi Ward; five sisters, Lillian Hardiman, Evangeline Taylor, Patricia Mostiller, Evelyn Sanchez and Ernestine Williams; thirty two grandchildren; and twenty five great grandchildren. Floyd was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Robin Michelle Ward; a brother, Donald Ward; and two sisters, Cleora Morales and Rose Maryon.
Floyd served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Indiana Vocational Technical College in Automotive Body Repair. He also owned and operated Floyd's Garage and worked at Hammond's Garage and Dorsett Automotive. He was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 19, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral, 605 S. 25th Street with District Elder J. Glenn officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home.
