EVERETT L. HAMMOND Everett L. Hammond, 83, of Terre Haute died Thursday morning, March 28, 2013 in Union Hospital. He was an electrician with IBEW Local #725. He was born March 27, 1930 in Lewis, Indiana to Paul E. Hammond and Bonnie J. Goodman Hammond. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn L. Phillips Hammond; two granddaughters, Jennifer Alexander and Julie Carter; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Elaine Berry and her husband, Buck; his aunt, Mary Ruth McKenzie; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Fulmer and her husband, Max, and Wilma Lee Chovanec. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Susan Hammond. Everett served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, attended Eighth Avenue Baptist Church and was a member of Lawton Byrum Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #972. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 1, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Dick Smith officiating.
