Eva E. Thomas Eva E. Thomas, 94, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Meadows Manor East Convalescent Center. She had been a Teacher's Aide in the Vigo County School Corporation. She was born April 18, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ernest Blanton and Margaret Eastwood Blanton. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Pennington and her husband Donald of Plainfield, IN; a brother, Jack Blanton and his wife Barbara of Kentucky; three sisters, Nora Chapin and her husband Jay, Margaret Smith and Jauneta Hayes all of Arizona; three grandchildren, Scott Pennington and his wife Marla, Steve Pennington and his partner Mary Cavett and David Pennington and his partner Kathy Dykins; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Thomas; three brothers, Raymond Blanton, Leon Blanton and George Blanton; and two sisters, Mary LaMaster and Martha Smalley. Memberships include St. Marks United Church of Christ, Wives of the Shrine, Women's Department Club and the YMCA Swim Club. She was a seamstress and quilter having made many quilts for her church. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Teresa Higus officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services Friday, March 29, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
