Elizabeth Ellen Buechler

January 24, 1948 — September 19, 2013

Elizabeth Ellen Buechler, 65, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in her residence after an eight month battle with cancer. She was born January 24, 1948 in Terre Haute to Lester Dickerson and Bertha Neil Dickerson. Elizabeth was president of Blackhawk Coal Company. She was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and attended Indiana State University. Survivors include her husband, Dr. James R. Buechler; one daughter, Michele E. Truxal of Terre Haute; one step-son, Raymond Buechler of Terre Haute; two step-daughters, Betsy Pennington of Carmel, IN and Nancy Buechler of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandchildren Nicholas Truxal and Mia Truxal; and her dog Eli. Elizabeth was a member of the American Paint Horse Association. She loved her horses and dogs. There is no visitation or funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery, 59 Allendale, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
