Long time resident of Terre Haute, Eleanor K. Rosenfeld, passed away on January 21, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on November 20, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Dorothy W. and Albert C. Kahn. She moved with her family to Terre Haute and attended Davis Park Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Junior High School and Wiley High School. Thereafter she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she met her future husband George K. Rosenfeld who was attending the University of Missouri. They were married on November 4, 1947, and lived in Columbus, Ohio, for a short period of time before returning to Terre Haute. Eleanor and George had two children, Nancy Jeanne and Robert Allan.
Eleanor lived in Terre Haute until 1974, reared her two children and was active in their various school and extracurricular activities. She was also active in the Council of Jewish Women and its Ship A-Box program. She and George thereafter relocated to Overland Park, Kansas, where she lived until her death. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years and is survived by her daughter Nancy Friedberg, Nancy's husband Arthur, their daughters Julie and Robin; her son Robert, his wife Anne , and their son Matthew.
Eleanor will be interred in Highland Lawn Cemetery at 11 am on Friday, January 26, 2018 with her husband George and her parents Dorothy and Albert Kahn. Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, is assisting with arrangements, www.callahanandhughes.com .
