Eleanor Alden Black, 93, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday evening, June 20, 2015 in Westminster Health Care Center. She was an administrative assistant for Miriam Black Personnel Services. She was born November 28, 1921 in Terre Haute to James H. Black, Jr. and Miriam Louise Sulger Black. Eleanor was a graduate of the Monticello Preparatory School in Godfrey, Illinois and had attended Lasell College in Auburndale, Massachusetts. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and an ardent supporter of the Terre Haute Humane Society. She also was an active supporter of the Salvation Army and a member of the Country Club of Terre Haute. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Miriam Hamilton Black. Private burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Drew Downs, Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. There is no visitation.
