Drusilla Danny Bailey, 94, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in Meadows Manor East surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1921 in Scott City, IN to William Eldridge and Letha Pierce Eldridge. She graduated from Fairbanks High School and attended Terre Haute Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years and was co-owner of the Candlelight Restaurant. Her husband, James Frederick Bailey, Sr., passed away in 1984 after 43 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Gladys Boyll, Ruby Morley, Cleo Loyed, Beulah Greenlee and Lucy Santus and six brothers, Thurl Eldridge, Orville Eldridge, Junior Eldridge, Ovie Eldridge, Earl Eldridge, and Robert Eldridge. She is survived by two sons, James F. Bailey, Jr. and his wife Vicki and Barry Alan Bailey and his wife Sherry; one sister, Betsy Wallace; four grandchildren, Jaime Morris (Mike Auten), Leslie Loveless (Brandon), Carrie Garner (Scott) and Melanie Hendrix (Justin) and two step-grandsons, Randy and Rodney DuBose of Texas. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, Chase Eliza Morris, Bailee Preslee Garner, Bella Loveless, Ella, Ethan Easton Hendrix, and Ceslie, Evan, Krista, Emily, Kayden and Jack DuBose. She also loved her many nieces and nephews. Danny was an avid bowler, card player, member of the Red Hat Society, and huge sports fan, always cheering on the Cubs, Indiana Hoosiers and Purdue, in that order!! The last two years Danny lived at Meadows Manor East where she received wonderful care by the entire staff. The family is very grateful to them all for the love and kindness shown to Danny and her family. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 followed by funeral services 11:30 a.m. in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Scott Johnson from Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park after the luncheon at Memorial United Methodist Church.
