Dorothy M. Walker Dorothy M. Walker, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Union Hospital. Dorothy was born in Terre Haute on May 31, 1923, to Fred Rudisel and Tina Rost Rudisel. Dorothy was a retired English and literature teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Walker who died in 1988. Survivors include a son, Greg Walker and his friend Jerri Boone of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Dr. Amy Walker of Terre Haute, Greg Walker and his wife, Martha of Louisville, Christopher Marietta and Elizabeth Marietta both of Terre Haute; a great granddaughter, Abigail Walker; a step-daughter, Linda Rukes and her husband, Clovis; and her caregiver, Donna Desue. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Valerie Ann Marietta; and a step-daughter, Judy Crabb. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a member of Delta Theta Chi. She taught at Wiley, Garfield, Terre Haute North High School, and Indiana State University. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00A.M. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with the Reverend Mary Slenski officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in the funeral home.
