Dorothy J. Mech Dorothy J. Mech, 86, of Terre Haute died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Signature Healthcare of Terre Haute. She was born October 6, 1927 in Hornell, NY to Guy Edward Stuart and Harriett Elouise Miller Stuart. She was a homemaker. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Mech who passed away in 1994. Survivors include her three sons, Andrew Mech and his wife Mimi of Terre Haute, Timothy Mech and his wife Heidi of Grove City, PA and Mark Mech and his wife Pamela of Woburn, MA; five grandchildren, Rebekah Mech, Stephen Mech, Stephanie Mech Baker and her husband Quinten, Nathaniel Mech and Robert Mech; and a brother, Guy Edward Stuart, Jr. of Owosso, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Margrethe Eloise Mech; and a sister, Marianna Rice Dorothy was a graduate of Elmira College in Elmira, NY and was a member of World Gospel Church. She worked at the Vigo County Library and was an artist. She loved her family and she took an interest in people that others might overlook. A dear friend described her as the warmest person, a real person without any airs. Memorial Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 29, 2013 in World Gospel Church with Dr. William Coker officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday. December 29, 2013 in the church. Burial will take place at a later date in St. John's Cemetery, Alden, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
