Dorothy Hoffman, 100, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Westminster Village in West Lafayette, IN. Dorothy was born November 20, 1922, to Reggie Lee and Adria Caldwell Carter.
In 1945 she married Joy Crafton "J.C." Hoffman. She is survived by their three daughters, Rebecca (Frank) Davis, Zionsville, IN, Rita Baker, West Lafayette, IN and Sharon (Steve) Strycker, Zionsville, IN. Dorothy loved each of her six grandchildren, Heather (Patrick) Sheehan, Myra (Jim) Priser, Jamie (Josh) Barrett, Stacy Schutte, Micaela (Mark) Schmidt, and Jonathan Strycker, along with seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Eric) Kosik, Kyle and Trevor Sheehan, Justin, Jake and Cole Priser, and Jagger Barrett. She was preceded in death by J.C., by a son-in-law, Frank Davis, and her 5 siblings.
Dorothy was raised in St. Francisville, IL. She and J.C. farmed in rural Clay County. They were members of Union United Methodist Church. Upon retirement, they made their home in Terre Haute Indiana. They maintained strong, lasting church and community friendships.
Dorothy will be remembered for her never ending smile and spunky, positive outlook on life. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Marc Kirchoff officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN. Funeral information and tributes may be found at www.callahanandhughes.com.
