Dorothy "Dot" Virginia Cole Dorothy "Dot" Virginia Cole, 94, of Terre Haute, IN and formerly of Covington, KY died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Royal Oaks Health Care Facility. Terre Haute, IN. She was retired as a Teacher's Assistant for Covington Independent Schools. She was born September 10, 1918 in Alexandria, KY to Emmett Harler, Sr. and Kate Lines Harler. Survivors include her three daughters, Emily Mongenas of Cincinnati, OH, Ruth Marriott of Elsmere, KY and Alfreda Meiners and her husband George of Terre Haute, IN; two sons, Kenneth Bryant and his wife Jean and Anthony Bryant and his wife Audrey all of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter-in-law, Kristine Marriott of Jacksonville, NC; 19 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; and a nephew, Jerry Harler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cole; a son, Charles Marriott; her parents; her step mother, Emma Harler; two sisters, Catherine Harler and Francis Bond; and two brothers, Emmett Harler, Jr. and Harvey Harler. Dorothy was a member of Latonia Baptist Church. Her passion was helping those less fortunate and she did that by working as a teacher's assistant in special education classes and working with Special Olympics. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; and a Kentucky Colonel. Memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 11, 2013, in the Chapel at Highland Cemetery, with Dr. Dan Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, IN.
