Dorothy F. Brown, 92 of Terre Haute and formally of Clay County , passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Cobblestone Crossing. She was born on September 14, 1923 in Vigo County, Indiana to Herbert Fagg and Florence Bell Felling Fagg. She worked on the family farm alongside with her husband of 53 years, Oscar Brown who preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include a step-son, Jim Brown and his wife Phyllis of Brazil, IN; four grandchildren, Steve Brown and his wife Staci, Terri Potter, Sue Wright and Patricia Jo Bormann and her husband Mark; seven great-grandchildren, Jason Brown, Jennica Brown Trusler, Addie Brown Stoelting, Broc Potter, Lindsey Potter, Stephanie Wright Maehler and Michael Wright; nine great great grandchildren and a former daughter-in-law, Carol Brown. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and a step-son, Bobby Joe Brown.
Dorothy graduated from Glenn High School in 1941. She liked to travel and loved working on the farm canning her vegetables, fruits and gathering eggs. She will be sadly missed by all her loving relatives, many friends, staff at West Minister and Cobblestone Memory Unit. Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 4, 2016 in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Neva McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
