Dorothy Ann Ashton
September 2, 1931 — February 18, 2018
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years Joseph E. Ashton in 1973. Dorothy, who had many friends, thanks everyone for all the help she has had (and she has had lots of it). We wish to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Meadows Manor North for the loving care they provided and for truly being her "family". Thanks also to Southern Care Hospice Staff.
Dorothy was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Krietenstein Auxiliary 104 since 1936, the 8/40, and the Department of World War I. She held local, state, and national offices in these organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, 1203 Maple Avenue, Terre Haute, IN with Reverend David Rockhill officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be in the family plot at Edgar Cemetery in Paris, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
