Dennis Leroy Lore

Dennis Leroy Lore or as everyone called him Denny, aged 77, crossed into heaven on December 13, 2021.

Denny was born March 11 ^th 1944 in Indianapolis but grew up in Indianapolis and Terre Haute Indiana.

After serving our country as a Sergeant in the United States Army, he moved his family back to Indianapolis from overseas.

He had a profound love for cars. He spent much time working on them, building them, and cherishing them. He spent his younger years working at his favorite job, Zores, and local service stations. Throughout his years at Zores, he had the privilege of working as a tow truck driver for the Indy 500. Up until the end, he talked about his love for classic cars that he would see on the Mecum Auctions Shows and would point out which ones he had previously owned or serviced.

In 1977, he moved his family back to Terre Haute. He began his challenge as an insurance agent and agency owner. Over the 40 years in the insurance field, he loved what he did but enjoyed helping and creating friendships with customers even more. These friendships lasted well past his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Edie and his son David.

He is survived by his daughters Robin Sweitzer (Scott) of Avon Indiana and Lisa Walecki (Mark) of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; brother, Gary Lore of Florida; and sister, Rebecca Roberts of Florida.

He was a proud papaw to Jeremy Cheesman (Bre), Emilee Cheesman (Jason), Delaney Sweitzer, Candace Lore, Sarah Lore, Katie Lore, Tiffanie Corbin, Stephanie Stiles, Jeremiah Corbin, and to their children, Lane, Landon, Lucas, Damian, and Enzo.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25 ^th Street.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.
