David Lee Wilson

July 8, 1935 — October 15, 2016

David (Smiley) Lee Wilson, 81, of Terre Haute went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Meadows Manor East. He was born July 8, 1935 in Terre Haute to Albert Wilson and Lilly Mae Pine Wilson. David worked at several jobs throughout the years ending with Stran Steel.

Survivors include his girlfriend of 27 years, Wilma Pittman; ex-wife, Dorothy Comstock; son, Timothy Wilson (Lisa); daughters, Karen Wilson Roberts (Tim) and Christy Wilson Todd (John); step-children, Cheryl Hires, Dawn Cordell, and Robert Cordell; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Wilson, Jr., Ed Wilson, and Bill Wilson; and sister, Ruth Booker.

David was a member of The Journey Church and the Wabash Valley Rodders. He was a collector enjoying auctions, yards sales, and flea markets. David enjoyed coffee with friends at Denny's, car shows, going to church, building model cars, reconstructing jewelry, and watching old westerns.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Bill Richardson officiating. Burial will be in New Vermillion Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
