David Scott Lyon

David Scott Lyon, 79, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 in his residence surrounded by family.  He was born February 8, 1942 in Terre Haute to Calvin W. Lyon and Irene L. Gaston Lyon.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sherry Lynn Porter Lyon; son, Jeff Lyon (Karen); daughters, Linda Whitt Christian, Leslie Groth (Bill), and Christine Hamilton (Darrell); brother, Bill Lyon (Nancy); brother-in-law, Michael Porter (Betty); grandchildren, David Whitt (Ashley), Eric Whitt (Chelsie), Jennifer Farber (Nic), Robert Conner (Kathleen), Heather Groth, Jacob Lyon, Rebekah Hamilton, Jessica Christian, Samantha Lyon, and Ivan Hamilton; and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was an electrician at the Chinook Coal Mine and part owner of Rafters Tavern. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and loved golf, camping, and traveling.  He and his wife would winter in Florida, Arizona, and Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
