David Hoffman

David was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church; Krietenstein American Legion Post #104. He was an engineer for Bemis. He was drafted during the Korean War and as an Army veteran, handled missiles for the Nike Missile System at Fort Bliss, TX. After active duty Army he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in engineering.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Hoffman; step-children, Susan Kellams, Barry Styles, and John Douglas Styles; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Styles Hoffman; his parents, Dr. R.J. Hoffman and Mrs. Bernice (Reis) Hoffman; step-son, Steven Styles; and brothers, Paul Hoffman and Thomas Hoffman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Martin Day OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #104. Visitation will be prior to mass from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
