David E. Cornelius, 53, of Terre Haute passed away early Saturday morning, January 30, 2016 at Terre Haute Nursing Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 27, 1962 in Terre Haute to Norman Rex Cornelius and Betty Goucher Cornelius.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Cornelius of Terre Haute; five sisters, Carol Nasser (George) of Terre Haute, Linda Cornelius of Terre Haute, Debbie Melvin (Joe) of Sandy Ridge, NC, Angela Horstman (Ken) of Terre Haute and Pamela Wright (Paul) of Terre Haute; three brothers, Bill Goucher (Arlene) of Zephyrhills, FL, Larry Cornelius (Dawn) of Terre Haute and Wayne Cornelius (Kathy) of Indianapolis, IN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Diana Sue Cornelius.

David attended Terre Haute South Vigo High School.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Private burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Mike Ralston, George Nasser III, Karrum Nasser, Stephen Cornelius, Zachary Horstman and Jacob Wright. There is no visitation. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Vigo County Mental Health Association,
