Darrell D. Coffin

Darrell D. Coffin, 91 of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016. He was born July 13, 1924 in Danville, IN to Clifford Coffin, Sr. and Ethel Sallee Coffin. Darrell was co-owner and operator of Sycamore Bowl along with his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy R. Favre Coffin who preceded him in death in 2007. They both retired in 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Smith and her husband Robert of Bath, OH and Linda Hudson and her finance Gary Fowler of Terre Haute; a grandson, Bryan Hudson and his finance Audrey Fisher; a brother, Clifford Coffin, Jr. and his wife Nada; a sister, Mary Mattox; a brother-in-law, Danny Favre and his wife Shirley; and many nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Coffin and his wife Betty; and a sister, Polly Crawford.
Darrell served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and was a member of Lawton Byron V.F.W. Post # 972. He loved attending his annual ship reunions, bowling, camping and tending his vegetable garden. Private services are scheduled for a later date with military rites by Lawton Byron V.F.W. Post #972. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
