Daniel W. Egan, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday evening, December 9, 2017 in Meadows Manor East with his family by his side. He was a retired lineman with PSI/ Duke Energy. Dan was born April 2, 1943 in Terre Haute to Clarence T. Egan, Sr. and Margaret E. Forbeck Egan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jo Campbell Egan; three sons, Mark Egan (Lynn), Mike Egan and Scott Egan (Paula) all of Terre Haute; his mother, Margaret Donnenhoffer of Terre Haute; a brother, Clarence T. Egan, Jr. (Lois) of Norfolk, VA; and two sisters, Carol Taiclet of Valparaiso, IN and Connie Dawson (Dean) of Terre Haute. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Collin Egan, Tate Egan, Meredith Egan, Kari Egan, Natalie Egan, Nathan Egan, Sadie Egan and Sophia Egan; three sisters-in-law, Marsha Mahan (Gene), Jennifer Duclos (Leo) and Debra Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; two step-fathers, Harold Lewis and George Donnenhoffer; a half-brother, Richard Egan; grandparents, Bernard & Floy Forbeck; father and mother-in-law, James and Kathleen Campbell; and a brother-in-law, James Campbell, Jr..
Dan was raised of the Catholic faith, and was a member of the IBEW #725. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and basketball at the Terre Haute Boys Club. In addition to his family, Dan loved camping and fishing, and pretty much anything having to do with nature and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 15, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Father Dan Bedel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
