Dale Richard Swift

Survivors include his wife, Joan P. Eggleston Swift; daughters, Mary (John) Wade. Carolyn McDowell, Joy Throckmorton, and Peggy (Kevin) McKee; brother, James (Donna) Swift; sister-in-law, Juanita Eggleston; grandchildren, John Michael Wade, Amy (Matt) Price, Joseph Throckmorton, Christy (Dave) Folkner, Jennifer (Pete) Glesing, Stephanie (Kevin) Kempf, and Jessica (Erik) Nomm; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; special nephew, William (Janet) Swift; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Arthur Watson; brothers, Harry Swift and Jack Swift; granddaughter, Carolanne Wade; and great granddaughter, Megan Wade.
Dale was a World War II Army veteran where he served as a mess sergeant in the medical corp. He was a member of American Legion Post # 104 and golfed in the Rea Park Senior Men's League. Dale's motto was "Family is the most important thing".
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with military services by American Legion Post # 104. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to 14th & Chestnut Community Center.
