Dale E. French, 73, of Terre Haute went to be with the Lord, early Thursday morning, September 12, 2019, in his home. He was a truck driver for McFarling Foods for 38 years. Dale was born February 19, 1946 in Terre Haute to Thomas E. French and Vonda Pearl Chestnut French.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Vicki Cowden French; daughter, Michelle Lawson (Greg) of Terre Haute; brother, William E. French of Terre Haute; and half-sister, Virginia Isle (Gary) of Terre Haute. Also surviving is a grandson, Matthew Lawson (Miranda); a great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose Lawson; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Precious. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters-in-law, Sue, Joy, Judy and Debbie; and a brother-in-law, Jerry.
Dale was a graduate of Garfield High School, attended The Kings Harvest Foursquare Church and was a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War where he served 2 years in Germany.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Libby Christenberry officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 12:00 Noon-1:00 PM. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.
