Charles Lawrence Poths Charles Lawrence Poths, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital ER. He was born in Terre Haute in 1938 to John William Poths and Theora Nunley Poths. He was a retired carpenter for Lough Brothers Roofing and Siding for 55 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jane Kessel Poths. Other survivors include two sons, Brad Poths and his wife Rene of St. Louis, MO and Charles Lawrence Poths, Jr. of Linden, VA; two sisters, Margaret Kavanaugh of Beech Grove, IN and Catherine Jaeger of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Nathan William Poths, Caitlin Elizabeth Poths, Sequoia Lace Poths and Cougar Blue Poths. Charles was preceded in death by a brother, John William Poths; and two sisters, Joan Osborne and Elizabeth Horstman. Charles was a lifetime member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Sycamore Club, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post # 328 and Carpenters Local 133. He also volunteered at the church in many capacities. He was an avid reader who loved to keep up with the news and current events. Charles was a 1956 graduate of Schulte High School and stayed close to his former classmates. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:05 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2015 in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Matthew Malek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled Sunday August 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
