Charles K. "Bud" Cook, 83, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was born March 9, 1931 in Indianapolis to James Cook and Esther Hileman Cook. Bud was a retired engineer for Tredegar. Survivors include his daughters, Denise Smith and her husband Jerry and Nancy Hines and her husband Bill both of Terre Haute; sisters, Janet Cowan and Ruth Adams both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Nathan Long, Chelsea Hines, Carey Johnson and her husband Ryan, Andrea Nicoson and her husband Mike and Lynsee Smith; great grandchildren, Riley Long, Cheyenne Reedy, Sadie Dillow, Braxton Johnson, Oliviah Johnson, Emma Nicoson, and Maxwell Nicoson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Cook whom he married September 4, 1952; his parents; and sisters, Ethel Selmier, Alice Norton, and Elizabeth Hawke. Bud was a member of James Hayes Lodge #331 F Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Zorah Shrine; American Legion Post #104; a lifetime member of the V.F.W; the N.R.A.; and the National Crossroads Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Association. Bud was also a member of Otter Creek Christian Church and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Bud loved his Tuesday morning breakfasts with his Visqueen friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Reverend Steve Brattain officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with military graveside services by V.F.W. Post #972. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 with masonic memorial services at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
