Charles L. Bryan, Jr., 75, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born July 7, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT to Charles L. Bryan, Sr. and Philomena Onorato Bryan.
Survivors include his brother, William “Bill” Bryan (Nancy) of Dallas, TX; sister, Jean Robson (Tim) of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
Charlie was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1970. He attended the University of Arkansas, earned a BS degree in Business Management, served in ROTC and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. He served in the United States Army National Guard for twelve years, attaining the rank of captain. He worked for the City of Terre Haute for fourteen years in various supervisory positions including the City Engineer’s Department. He found his niche and passion when he became a realtor, and pursued his dream career until moving to assisted living. Charlie was an avid bridge player at the Terre Haute Bridge Center. He enjoyed playing several times a week, and made some close friends who shared his dedication to the game. His sense of humor, quick wit and generosity brought joy to those around him. He was devoted to the sisters at the Carmelite Monastery and was happy to serve them whenever possible.
He greatly enjoyed his time at The Commons of Honey Creek Assisted Living, where he met a wonderful community of friends along with an amazing and caring staff. He enjoyed being the life of the party, including others in the many activities offered there, and he really found an opportunity to shine with a great group of people that treasured him.
He was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle (“Awesome Uncle Charlie” according to his older nieces and nephews), friend to many and will be greatly missed.
