Charles "Chuck" Adamson, 61, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday evening, June 11, 2015 in his home. He was born June 18, 1953 in Terre Haute to Robert Crane Adamson and Jane Hollopeter Adamson. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Debbie Gabbard Adamson; one son, Robert Lloyd Adamson, his wife Emily, and granddaughter, Hazel Jane Adamson, of Indianapolis; one daughter, Audrey Adamson-Rice and her husband, James, of Norfolk, VA; and a sister, Judie Adamson-Dierdorf of Terre Haute. Also surviving are nieces, Melissa Adamson and Angela Adamson of Chicago; nephews, Eric Adamson of Seattle, WA, Skip Adamson of Chicago, and Kevin VanArsdale and his wife, Kim, of Martinsville, IN; sisters-in-law, Rose Garner and her husband John of Terre Haute and Chris Adamson of Chicago; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chet and Norma Gabbard. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Adamson; and a niece, Kelly Fuqua. Chuck was a graduate of Wiley High School and attended Indiana University on an Evans Scholarship, graduating in 1975. He worked for 31 years at Indiana American Water Company retiring in 2011. Chuck was active in the American Water Works Association for years, having served as Vice President, President and later Trustee of the Southwest District. He volunteered for ten years with Junior Achievement at the Washington Alternative School and was secretary of the Local Emergency planning committee. Chuck's passion was his family and golf. He won several area golf tournaments throughout the years and loved spending time with his friends and family on the links. Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2015 (on his birthday) in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Monte Vincent officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday from 3:00-6:00 P.M. in the funeral home. A Celebration of Chuck's life will follow the services at Hulman Links Golf Course clubhouse at 7:00 P.M.
