Carolyn Jane Smith, 87, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017 at Bethesda Gardens. She was a retired Registered Nurse having worked most of her career at St. Anthony/Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Carolyn was born January 20, 1930 in Cadillac, MI to Orval Sisson and Gertrude Wright Sisson. Her husband, Bobby Lee Smith, preceded her in death on June 22, 2006.

Survivors include her four sons, Robert David Smith (Cheryl) of Terre Haute, Gregory A. Smith (Sandy) of Greencastle, IN, William V. Smith (Karen) of Terre Haute and Kim Edward Smith (Jennifer) of Brazil, IN; her brother, William Sisson (Marjorie) of Cory, IN; and her sister-in-law, Mary Smith of Jasonville, IN. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Brian Smith (Raissa Vidal), Matthew Smith (Stephanie), Scott Smith (Erin), Kenny Smith, Danny Smith, Jeannie Marie Aldy ( Jim), Tony Williams (Meredith), Cory Williams (Tarynn), Hannah Elizabeth Smith, Anna Smith and Kenny Smith; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Carolyn Hicks.

Carolyn was a graduate of Clinton High School and St. Anthony School of Nursing. She was a member of Oregon Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Fred Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM. Funeral information may also be found at www.callahanandhughes.com.
