Survivors include her husband, Robert T. Jones; two daughters, Kathy Elliott and her husband Bill of Venice, FL and Karey Cain and her husband Michael of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Richard VanGilder of Terre Haute and David VanGilder of Marshall, IL; two sisters, Shirley Hopkins and Jackie Pastorius both of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Chad Shaffer, Jr., Justin Shuler, and Daniel Shaffer; great grandchildren, Shaelyn, Chad, Seth, Liam, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Betty, Jane, and Linda.
Carolyn was a member of Maplewood Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 19, 2016 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Doug Davis officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
