Carol A. Criss, 69, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday morning, August 3, 2024. She was born August 28, 1954 in Albion, IL to James F. Simms and Jacquelin Collins Simms.
Survivors include her husband of 24 ½ years, Mark A. Criss; three daughters, Veronica Cummings and Molly Cummings both of Terre Haute and Laura Eileen Bergstrom (George) of New Albany, IN; and her granddaughter, Olivia Bergstrom. Also surviving are her brother, Mike Simms (Glenna) of Albion, IL; a niece, Gina Simms; a nephew, John Simms (Mary); and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Timothy Criss, Pamela Spelbring, Cynthia Criss, Elizabeth Carpenter and Lisa Criss-Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. She was very artistic and creative and loved making things especially furniture and working with wood. She loved caring for animals and feeding “her” ducks, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Carol was a true music lover (especially of R&B) and enjoyed singing along to her favorite songs.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation for Carol scheduled for Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. A private funeral service for family will be conducted at another time with Pastor Dick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8th from 5:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School Fund, P.O.
