Carol Cook, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was born July 8, 1931 in Terre Haute to Tom W. Cook and Helen Jones Cook.
Carol is survived by nieces and nephews, Warren Cook (Teresa) of New Castle, IN, Leslie Cook of Houston, TX, Linda Paige of Ocala, FL, Cathy Cook (Dennis Rice) of Tampa, FL, and Jim (Nina) Cook of Doylestown, PA; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and friend and caregiver, Dale Johnson, Terre Haute, IN. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Cook, George Cook and Bud Cook; a sister, Jodie Cook; and a very special friend of 13 years, John Easley.
Carol was a 1949 graduate of Wiley High School and attended Indiana State University for two years. She was a very active, 50+ year member of Central Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, taught pre-school for seven years, was the coordinator for former pastor, Dr. John Chironna, Jr., sang in the Children’s Choir, was President of the Women’s Association, and served 2 terms on the Deacons and Session. She was also a member of Chapter Z of PEO Sisterhood, Jobs Daughters Bethel #19 and Girl Scouts. Carol worked at the former Saint Anthony Hospital and Terre Haute Regional Hospital for 10 years and was a volunteer for Red Cross where she was a member of the Gray Ladies.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Riggins officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
