Bob R. Minger, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016 at Harrisons Crossing Health Campus. He was a Shipping Clerk with Hulman Company for many years. Bob was born August 4, 1923 in Farmersburg, IN to Thomas Minger and Stella McCammon Minger.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Carol Stephens Minger; three children, Chris Minger and his wife, Hajnal, of Ann Arbor, MI, Nancy Schopmeyer and her husband, Wayne, of Clay City, IN and Kirt Minger and his wife, Diane, of Midlothian, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Ruth Minger and Norma Benson both of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, Jerry Stephens and his wife, Rosemary, of Bowling Green, IN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Bob was a graduate of Shelburn High School and served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelburn and the 25th Division Association.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Monday, April 4, 2016 in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Ben Wetherington officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg with Military Graveside Honors provided by VFW Post #972. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Monday from 10:00 A.M. 12:00 Noon in the funeral home.
