BILLY L. HUSBAND Billy L. Husband, 87, of Terre Haute died Tuesday evening, October 8, 2013 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was a shipping clerk having worked for Quaker Maid, Inc. for 32 years and Indiana State Highway Department for over 7 years. Billy was born May 13, 1926 in Coalmont, Indiana to Lester Husband and Hazel Winklepleck Husband. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Bonnie Gordon Husband; a niece, Nancy Husband Byrd and her husband, John, of Tell City, IN; two nephews, Bryan Husband of Jasonville, IN and Max Husband and his wife, Cyndi, of Jasonville, IN; three great-nephews, Travis Neff of Tell City, IN, Shane Husband and his wife, Valerie, of Coalmont, IN and Shawn Husband of Jasonville, IN; a great-niece, Briana Husband of Greenwood, IN; four great-great-nephews; several cousins; and special friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Husband; and several aunts and uncles. Billy was a 1944 graduate of Coalmont High School and was a United States Army Veteran of World War II having served as a Staff Sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a lifetime member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church (near Lewis, IN), a 50 year member of Jasonville Lodge #530 F & AM, Terre Haute Chapter #43 Order of Eastern Star, Kerman Grotto, Swords of Bunker Hill and a lifetime member of Outdoor Recreation Club, American Legion Post #346 and Lawton Byrum Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #972. He was a bowler and loved fishing, camping, throwing horseshoes and hunting mushrooms. He was a great husband and uncle. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Jason Hill officiating. Burial will be in Friendly Grove Cemetery near Lewis, IN with Military Graveside Honors provided by VFW Post #972. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 11th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. with a Masonic Memorial Service to take place at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
