Betty L. Trager

Betty L. Trager, 96, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Meadows Manor East. She was born September 21, 1920 in Cory, Indiana to Charles R. Smith and Elizabeth Swearingen Smith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Trager.

Survivors include a daughter, Constance Whitsett of Middlebury, IN; a brother, William R. Smith and his wife Wanda of Terre Haute; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Henderson.

Betty was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting. She was past president of The American Legion Post Auxiliary in Riley and was active in Posts 346, 104 and 210 in Middlebury.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 19, 2016 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. The family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
