Betty Mueller Ellis Touchton, 94, passed away on Monday morning, July 20, 2020, at Westminster Village Health and Rehab. She was born on September 19, 1925 to Joseph Mueller and Ruth Stephens Mueller. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Herman Ellis and Joseph Touchton. She and her first husband operated the Sunoco Service Station in East Glenn for twelve years. After his death, she worked at various secretary jobs until marrying her second husband.
She is survived by a son, Charles Ellis (Shirley), two grandchildren, Phillip Nathaniel Ellis (Jennifer) and Emily Ann English (Adam). Three great- grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail English and Cameron Ellis. Three step children, Joseph Touchton Jr. (Lara), Frank Spitler (Rita) and Lowell Touchton (Becky). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews plus a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Ruth Ann, brother George Mueller and wife Arthaleen.
Betty was a kind and caring person who tried to be a friend to everyone. She loved music and spent many hours playing the piano, especially hymns. She loved to cook and was meticulous about her cream pies.
She was a graduate of Riley High School and enjoyed attending the Alumni Banquets every year.
She was a member of Union Christian Church but still had a love for Pleasant Valley Church where she attended as a child. She also attended Oak Hill Community Church.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Westminster Village for their compassionate care while she lived there.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley with Mark Grayless officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Calllahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
