Betty Meyer Sheets, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 in Union Hospital. She was born October 31, 1922 in Terre Haute to Ralph B. Johnson and Elnora Meyer Johnson. Betty worked fifteen years at Bell Telephone and twenty-five years at Williams and Associates Realty.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Rick) Huffman ; son, James (Kim) Sheets; grandchildren, Christina Burkeybyle, Erin Burkeybyle, Lauren (Robert) Waterman, Jared Sheets, and William (Karington) Sheets; and great grandchildren, Bryce Chandler, Caroline Burkeybyle, Reid Waterman, Kailyn Waterman, Emma Hay, Samsun Sheets, and Kayden Sheets. She was preceded in death by her husband William Sheets and her parents.

Betty was a Past Queen of Badoura Temple #23 Daughters of the Nile; Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 43 and Past Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel #2; and helped organize the Zorah Honored Ladies. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution; member and regent of Daughters of American Colonists, Colonial Dames, and Kappa Kappa Sorority. Betty was former realtor of the year of the Terre Haute Association of Realtors. She attended Maryland Community Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Vince McFarland, Daughters of the Nile, and Order of the Eastern Star officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Daughters of the Nile.
