Betty Jean McKee, 80, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 9, 1937, in Wolf Lake, IN, to Homer and Mabel Mary Barr. Betty was preceded in death by her Parents, brothers Roger Lee Barr, Glen "Bud" Barr, and sister Sally Gawthrop.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Carl R McKee DDS, sister Sandra Kay Halsey (Woody) and brother in law Jim Gawthrop. Betty's legacy includes: children Kristina Box MD (David) , Kraig McKee DDS (Jane), Kathryn Pallotta (Andrew Sr), Kelly McKee (Cathy), grandchildren: Elizabeth Beaulieu (Matthew), Kathryn Box (Amber), Emily Pallotta (fiance' Karlek Johnson) Lauren Box, Jon Box, Joey Box, Samantha McKee (fiance' Brad Lohsl), Andrew Pallotta, Jr., and Molly McKee. Great Grandchildren Luke and Brynn Beaulieu.

Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of Alpha Xi Sorority, Tri Kappa (past President), The League of Terre Haute, Terre Haute Day Nursery Board (past President), Docent at Swope Art Gallery, and was a proud member of GBC of Terre Haute for over 50 years. Betty was also a previous member of Central Christian and Union Christian Churches.

Her greatest passion was her grandchildren. To them she was "Bubba". Bubba was a caretaker, friend, teacher, and the number one fan of all nine of her grandchildren. Their lives have been blessed forever by her love and the memories they made together. In turn, they are her legacy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday June 29, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Mark Grayless officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday June 28, 2017 in the funeral home.
