Betty Jane Garrett

Betty Jane Garrett, 92, of Brazil, IN and formerly of Terre Haute passed at 1:34 AM  Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020.  She had worked as an inventory clerk for Industrial Supply Company.  Betty was born September 17, 1928 in Terre Haute to Samuel Lindsay and Blanche Cundiff Lindsay.

Survivors include her children, Jack Arnett, Tim & Penny Arnett, Pam Fagg & Mike Archer, Jeff Turpin, Becky Corns and Cathy & Greg Keegan;  step-son, Richard & Cheryl Garrett;  and her siblings, Gerald & Violet Lindsay and Bob & Yolonda Lindsay.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christina & Russell Torbet, Kim & Matt Vitoux, Jack Arnett, Jr., Autumn & Jeff Gill, Jessica Arnett, Andy Arnett, Kevin Arnett, Timmy Arnett, Shane Fagg, Stacy Frye, Garrett Turpin, Alexis & Damian Tiano, Levi Long and Daniel Garrett;  along with many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents;  two husbands, Arnold Turpin and Freddie Von Garrett;  son, A. Randy Turpin;  daughter-in-law, Barbara Arnett;  grandchildren, Mathew Corns, Melissa Rose Arnett and Leandra Dawn Frye;  and siblings, Jack Lindsay, Sam Lindsay, James Lindsay and Donna (Lindsay) Ferguson.

Betty was a graduate of Wiley High School and was a member of Peniel United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and all of her family in her last years.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 1:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home.  Private burial will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.  Funeral information and tributes may be found at www.callahanandhughes.com .
