He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Janet; his daughter Kim and her son Ryan; his son Jeff and his daughter Emily; his son Jay and his wife Cindy and their children, Adam and his wife Ashlee, Tatum, and Taylor; also his beloved great grandchildren AJ, Alyse, and Blakely. Berlyn is also survived by his brother Eugene and his wife Virginia; his sister Carolyn Stewart and her husband John; and his brother-in-law Gary Hoare and his wife Joyce. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Berlyn was a graduate of Concannon High School where he excelled in athletics, earning fifteen varsity letters. Before serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he was drafted by a major league baseball team. He had an infectious smile, a whimsical sense of humor, and just loved to make people laugh. He was an avid I.U. Basketball fan. Berlyn was a past president of the German Oberlandler Club, Terre Haute Lions Club, and the Concannon Alumni Association. His most special times were when his family was gathered with him around the swimming pool.
