Beatrice A. Maurer Beatrice A. Maurer, 87, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Westminster Health & Rehab. She was born September 24, 1926 in Muncie, IN to Jess Dance and Corda Davis Dance. Beatrice was a retired school teacher at Eastside Elementary School in Brazil, where she taught for 25 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Maurer of Terre Haute. Other survivors include a son, Tom Maurer and his wife Rhonda of Terre Haute; two daughters, Jean Mueller and her husband Steve of Cincinnati, OH and Susan Ballard and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant S.C.; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Alexa Maurer, Melissa Edkins, Phil Mueller, Michael Frees and Lauren Frees; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Beatrice was a member of First Baptist Church of Terre Haute and was involved with Kids Hope. She loved to sew and was quite a seamstress. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 13, 2014 in First Baptist Church, 4701 Poplar Street with Reverend Bernie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to services, 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. in the church.
