Barbara Joyce Pancake Moore, 80, of Terre Haute and originally of Bicknell, Indiana passed away Monday afternoon, April 14, 2014 in Davis Gardens Health Center. She was born March 20, 1934 in Oakland City, Indiana to Ralph Howard Pancake and Ina Marie Miller Pancake. Barbara married Ernest Patterson "Pat" Moore on February 27, 1952. Together they owned and operated Moore's Nursing Home in Bicknell, Indiana for over 25 years. Pat preceded her in death on June 17, 2008. Survivors include her three children, Michael Moore and his wife, Nancy, of Kankakee, IL, Ronald Moore and his wife, Nancy, of San Diego, CA and Lisa Kaufman and her husband, Bryan, of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Jared Patterson Moore, Mark David Moore, Laura Gwen Moore, Brandon Joseph Moore, Nathan Ronald Moore, Jase Bryant Kaufman and Landry Reece Kaufman; and a brother, Phillip Pancake and his wife, Norma, of Lafayette, IN. Barbara graduated from Oakland City High School and completed the first course ever given for Nursing Home Administrators and Licensing at Indiana University. She was a 50 year member of Washington Chapter Order of Eastern Star #210, International Chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood and First Baptist Church of Terre Haute. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Mark Grayless officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Asbury Chapel Cemetery in Bicknell, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
